Partner Event Webinar - Presence Sensing Testing Requirement
Presence sensing systems such as Light Curtains and Laser Scanners - both types of ESPE - Electro-Sensitive Protective Equipment - are very common protective devices in many machinery safety applications. Both types of devices have requirements for installation and use to ensure they maintain safety - one of these requirements is testing the function of the device during commissioning and at periodic intervals. The testing requirement is given in the operation manuals of the devices and is also a legislated requirement in the WHS legislation applicable in most Australian states and territories. In this webinar we will look at the testing and record-keeping requirements outlined in the WHS legislation and AS 4024.2802 standard - when to test, how to test, what records to keep, and what other standards should be considered when using electro-sensitive protective equipment.
